When it comes to mma betting, the most common bets are money lines (which simply predict which fighter will win) and method of victory bets (predicting how a fight will end: KO, TKO, submission, disqualification or judge’s decision). However, MMA betting has many other bet types. Those include parlays (accumulators), over/unders, round bets and Inplay bets.

When making a bet on a MMA fight, it’s important to consider the fighter’s style of fighting. A fighter’s style can often make a much bigger difference than their record or the number of wins and losses they have on their resume.

In addition, it’s important to study a fighter’s striking stats to see how effective they are in the ring. Striking statistics such as striking accuracy and strikes landed per minute are key to evaluating a fighter’s chances of winning a particular fight.

MMA over/under bets are a popular way to bet on a fight. They’re similar to the over/unders that are available in football and basketball games. The over/under is a wager on the total number of rounds a fight will last. If a fighter is considered a submission specialist and you place a bet on them winning the fight by method of submission in the first round, the over/under will be set at 2.5 rounds.

Some sportsbooks offer a special bet called the DRAW match, which is a very rare event. This type of bet is different than standard moneyline and over/under bets because it requires a precise pick on which round the fight will end, rather than simply predicting which fighter will win a certain round. This bet type carries a higher risk but also offers a much larger payout than a regular bet.

Some MMA fighters struggle to make the weight for their fights and must cut down on calories in order to do so. These cuts can be dehydrating and exhausting, leaving a fighter feeling drained before the fight even starts. In addition, some fighters will walk around much heavier than their designated weight class during the weigh-in and may have an advantage over smaller opponents. This is why it’s essential to do your research and analyze the records of both fighters before placing a bet on a fight.
